Concept
The clients of House T are restaurant owners who live and work on Hong Kong Island during the weekdays, seeking a refuge from the hustle and bustle of urban life on the weekends. Their primary vision for the house was to create a space that evokes the ambiance of a resort in Bali, rather than a typical Hong Kong dwelling. This desire for a tranquil escape is manifested in the home’s design, which emphasizes a seamless indoor/outdoor experience that connects them to nature. Full-height folding doors are a key feature of the design, allowing for an open flow between the interior and the breathtaking surroundings, fulfilling their need for a serene retreat where they can unwind and rejuvenate.
Social interaction is an essential aspect of the clients’ lifestyle, which is thoughtfully addressed through the inclusion of a custom-built 2.5m x 2.5m kitchen table. This multifunctional table serves as a kitchen counter, breakfast bar, and round dining booth, making it a central hub for entertaining. It invites family and friends to gather for shared meals and culinary experiences, transforming the home into an inviting space for communal gatherings.
Moreover, the clients place great importance on the ritual of cleansing, seeking a holistic experience that ties them closer to nature during their bath. To cater to this preference, the master bedroom features a uniquely positioned bathtub that emphasizes wellness and relaxation. Elevated and seamlessly connected to an outdoor balcony, this area creates a distinct cleansing experience that reinforces the clients’ appreciation for self-care and tranquil spaces. Additionally, the rooftop includes an outdoor shower area that is completely open, further enhancing their connection to nature and providing a refreshing retreat. Through these design elements, House T not only meets the clients' preferences but also enriches their lifestyle, making it a true sanctuary away from the city's demands.

Custom-built square kitchen table
At the heart of the home is a stunning custom-built 2.5m x 2.5m square kitchen table that serves multiple functions—a kitchen counter, breakfast bar, and round dining booth all in one. This innovative design even includes a built-in DJ booth, making it the perfect entertainment hub for friends. Owner can enjoy preparing teppanyaki while mixing cocktails at the kitchen counter, with friends sharing memorable moments around the inviting round table.

Master bedroom
Another standout feature is the master bedroom, which includes a bathtub positioned in front of the bed. This area is slightly elevated and connected to the outdoor balcony deck with wooden planks. When the folding doors are opened, the outdoor space merges with the interior, creating a distinctive cleansing experience.
